NUCA of Eastern WA & North ID once again was a proud partner with our local utility councils IEUCC and KCUC. This great event sponsored by Avista, IEUCC, KCUC, TC Energy, Williams Pipeline, Marathon, and Phillips 66/Yellowstone was held on a very snowy day but still had a great turnout! Kathy Boykin from IEUCC said it is always snowy on Contractor Breakfast day...even if the weather is beautiful leading up to or after the breakfast. But the snow was definitely no match for our hearty contractors and sponsors.
It was a morning filled with great speakers, good breakfast and some super prizes!! Brian Logsdon spoke to the group about Dig Ticket Software updates, Zac Barrett (who stepped up to be the event's MC-and did a wonderful job) shared a heartbreaking story about farmers in Illinois who hit a line and sadly passed away and talked about the Williams Pipeline outage in Pullman...remind your co-workers, friends and family ALWAYS call 811 BEFORE you dig!! It could save a life...or many lives. We also heard from Becky Spangle and Scott Wallace about Road Cut policy updates and Kyle Marine from KCUC spoke on ID Dig Law & Complaint updates. NUCA EWNI's fabulous ED Sheri Nowlan spoke to the group about NUCA and the benefits of being a member as well as the upcoming Dozer Day (May 4th & 5th).
It is always great to get this group of people together to network, have a great meal and tackle information and issues that affect our industry!! Plus, the fabulous prizes don't hurt. Look forward to next year!
