Well folks… what started as a friendly indoor golf tournament quickly turned into a full-blown battle for simulator supremacy. In fact, the tournament sold out almost as fast as we opened registration, proving two things: NUCA members love a good competition, and nobody turns down the chance to swing a club indoors during the off-season.
The morning crew of 11 teams kicked off the day at 11am, swinging their clubs like they were auditioning for a slapstick comedy. The next 10 teams rolled in for the afternoon shift at 1pm, ready to network and chow down on some delicious Chipotle tacos. There was no shortage of friendly teasing about chip shots that went sideways and swings that looked like they were trying to swat a fly. But hey, it was mostly a fantastic chance to hobnob with industry pals!
After the virtual dust settled, we had a three-way tie for first place — which meant things were about to get serious. The playoff drama unfolded hole by hole until Simco managed to edge out United Rentals Trench Safety by one stroke on the third playoff hole, claiming the 1st Place Championship Bragging Rights.
Not to be outdone, United Rentals Trench Safety came back swinging and secured 2nd Place, beating Delk Management by two strokes in their tie breaker, leaving Delk with a very respectable 3rd Place finish and likely a few “if only that putt had dropped” stories.
Now onto the long ball hitters…

🏌️ Longest Drive: Dillon Williams from the Putt Pirates (the swashbuckling squad assembled by Inland Asphalt) launched an absolute missile at 332 feet, proving once and for all that pirates apparently pillage AND drive the ball.
🎯 Closest to the Pin – Men’s: Jesse from Foreplay Indoors Right (United Rentals Trench Safety’s creatively named crew) stuck one to 5 feet, which in simulator golf is basically the equivalent of threading a needle while wearing work gloves.
🎯 Closest to the Pin – Women’s: Brooke Kelly from ACI dialed it in and claimed the women’s honors.

💥 Women’s Longest Drive: For the second year in a row, Mandy from H2 Precast absolutely crushed the field and took home the title again. At this point we’re starting to suspect she might have some sort of secret swing formula hidden in the precast molds.
And finally… the award for Best Team Name goes to “We Thought This Was Mini Golf” from United Rentals — a name that perfectly captures the moment when you realize you signed up for something slightly more competitive than windmills and clown mouths.
As always NUCA runs on the generosity of our Premier Sponsor!! This golf tournament was sponsored by our Presidential sponsors Aldrich CPAs, ACI Northwest, Marsh McLenna, Pape and Western States. Our Superintendent sponsors Copenhaver, Modern Machinery, WM Winkler and Foreman sponsor IQ Construct NW. We are incredibly fortunate to have such fabulous support from our membership...none of this happens without you!!

Thanks to everyone who came out for a night of great swings, questionable swings, competitive banter, and plenty of laughs. Safe to say the NUCA crew once again proved that while we may build infrastructure for a living… we take our indoor golf very seriously.
