On October 16th, NUCA of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho hosted its highly anticipated 5th annual Cornhole tournament at Nashville North. This year, the event saw an impressive turnout, with over 65 teams coming together to compete for the coveted title of Bag Champion.

The tournament not only provided an exciting afternoon of friendly competition but also served a noble purpose, as it raised essential funds for NUCA's Christmas Wish Program. This program is dedicated to supporting families in need during the holiday season, allowing the organization to spread joy and goodwill to those who may be struggling during this time of year.

Cornhole has rapidly gained popularity among NUCA events, becoming a beloved tradition that draws in both seasoned players and newcomers alike. The atmosphere at the tournament was filled with laughter, cheers, and a sense of community as members gathered to enjoy a night of camaraderie and networking—all while contributing to a meaningful cause. This sense of belonging and support is what makes NUCA events truly special, fostering connections that extend beyond the competition.

In addition to the cornhole games, two years ago, NUCA introduced a Chili Cook-off competition, which has quickly become a highlight of the event. This year, the Chili Cook-off featured its highest number of contestants to date, with six talented chefs showcasing their culinary skills. Among them was Leeny Squire from White Diamond, who wowed the judges and attendees alike with her delicious chili, ultimately taking home the esteemed top chef prize. Her husband, witnessing her culinary prowess, was not at all surprised by her victory, affirming the talent that runs in their household.

The cornhole competition culminated in a thrilling showdown, with Jordan Enyeart and Corey Thorpe from Delk Management emerging as the champions of the tournament. Close behind them were Lance Lockmer and Nick Kane from HD Fowler, who demonstrated impressive skills throughout the event. Rounding out the competition was the perennial favorite from ACI, Walt Haneke, partnered with Tyler Kemp, who consistently brings enthusiasm and talent to the games.

This annual event is just one of the many reasons our members eagerly return year after year. They cherish the warm and friendly atmosphere fostered by the NUCA community, which emphasizes support, collaboration, and shared goals. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our Premier Sponsors, including ACI Northwest, Marsh McLennan, Vermeer Mountain West, Western States, and White Diamond. Their generous support plays a crucial role in the success of our events. Additionally, we appreciate the contributions from our event sponsors: Consolidated Supply, Delk Management, HD Fowler, Inland Infrastructure, Inland Asphalt, KCUC, Old Republic, and United Rentals Trench. Their commitment to NUCA and the community helps us make a positive impact, ensuring that we can continue to support families in need during the holiday season and beyond.
