About the Event
OSHA standards for trenching and excavation require that every jobsite have a "competent person" present at all times, who has knowledge of the OSHA standard and adequate field experience.
Class Instruction Topics include:
- OSHA requirements for a “Competent Person” on excavation sites.
- How to properly conduct soil tests.
- Soil Classification Methods, Tabulated Data, Site Evaluation,
- Shoring requirements and equipment knowledge.
- General Hazards Associated with Trenching and Excavation Work.
- Understand OSHA regulations for shoring, sloping, and benching, and trench boxes.
- Identify and control hazardous atmospheres lurking inside of trenches.
- Locate and work safely around potentially deadly underground utilities.
- How to handle OSHA inspections at your trenching and excavation site.
- Dangers Associated with Water Accumulation.
- Access and Egress from Trenches and Excavations.
