CPT - "Competent Person" Safety Training Dec 2022 - 2nd Session

OSHA  standards for trenching and excavation require that every jobsite have a  "competent person" present at all times, who has knowledge of the OSHA  standard and adequate field experience.

Class Instruction Topics include:

• OSHA requirements for a “Competent Person” on excavation sites.
• How to properly conduct soil tests.
• Soil Classification Methods, Tabulated Data, Site Evaluation,
• Shoring requirements and equipment knowledge.
• General Hazards Associated with Trenching and Excavation Work.
• Understand OSHA regulations for shoring, sloping, and benching, and trench boxes.
• Identify and control hazardous atmospheres lurking inside of trenches.
• Locate and work safely around potentially deadly underground utilities.
• How to handle OSHA inspections at your trenching and excavation site.
• Dangers Associated with Water Accumulation.
• Access and Egress from Trenches and Excavations.
